At Harvard University’s Institute for Applied Computational Science, I think about how we can use data science to advise and implement strategic decisions that enhance human outcomes.
In a prior life as a Data Scientist in a management consulting firm, I led cross-functional teams that applied quantitative methods to solve the “unsolvable” problems facing global boardrooms.
In the ‘Wild West’ of applied big data analytics, human experiences are increasingly driven by machine predictions that can unexpectedly violate fairness and privacy at scale. I research practical ways we can make algorithms more fair and respect privacy.
Sometimes I’m asked to speak about my research.
